In South India, the seeds are used in making various tasty recipes like soup, sambar and rasam. Kollu paruppu for weight loss: Boil the previously soaked kollu in pressure cooker. Fry 1/2tsp of cumin, 1 onion, 3 red chillies, 1tomato, curry leaves and grind the ingredients with kollu like a fine paste.

Kollu podi for weight loss: Dry roast the horse gram seeds along with cumin seeds properly until the raw smell vanishes off. After cooling down grind the seeds and make fine powder. Store this powder in air tight container. Mix this powder in water or in buttermilk and consume it twice a day on empty stomach. Within few months you can find natural weight reduction. You can also use this powder in your regular soups and dal.

Kollu sundal for weight loss: Soak horse gram seeds in water and keep it overnight. Morning consume the seeds as breakfast by adding salt and finely chopped onion in it. This can help you for quick weight loss.
Soak horse gram seeds in water for overnight and tie them in soft cotton cloth for one day. You can see that the seeds are sprouted now. Consumption of sprouted seeds can not only reduce weight but also provides nutrients and vitamins to the body.
